"The physiotherapist told me about your classes. I had awful back pain and lacked flexibility. It has helped my back pain, my flexibility and my wellbeing. I enjoy the class and the good tuition. Thank you for your help and the individual time you give to us…" Ann, Croydon, Surrey

Dawn is a Senior Karuna Yoga Teacher/Trainer and Level 1 ANS Kundalini Yoga Teacher

She recently completed training with Amritnam Sarovar Kundalini School of Yoga and now passionately shares the techniques that have contributed to her own healing journey and spiritual growth

Her unique style has developed during her 15 years teaching and is a culmination of her

  • understanding of the different types of yoga having tried most and maintains a love of Bikram and Yin Yoga

  • ability to incorporate the principles of Pilates Back Care, Core strengthening and Postural rehabilitation

  • 5 years as a Fitness Instructor during which time she was known for her highly motivating Circuit, Step and Aerobic Classes and a natural ability to manage large mixed ability groups

  • 5 years as a Sports Massage Therapist facilitated an understanding of the behaviour of soft tissue through the healing process after injury and as a response to lifestyle and postural habit patterns

Dawn’s approach is based around…

  • The principals of correct body alignment

  • The importance of maintaining structural integrity,

  • core stability and balance

  • An awareness of the breath and coordinating it with movement

  • Adapting and modifying to suit the needs of the participant

  • An awareness of the incredible potential that we have for healing, given the right internal and external environment

  • Improving health, strength, flexibility, mobility and well being.

Dawn has great empathy, an intuitive understanding of the body and is a natural teacher. She encourages you to be at ease in the postures, aware of the breath and present in every moment

Each class is unique and downloaded in real time making it appropriate for the season, time of day and capability of those present. Dawn aims to create a harmonious supportive atmosphere conducive to healing and spiritual growth.

Through the creation of her own teachers training programme Dawn continues to grow spiritually through her commitment to her daily practice of Yoga and Meditation as the realisation of the depth of responsibility one assumes in first being drawn to giving back but accepting the mantle of guru as she endeavours to support others on the road to becoming teachers, sharing in the opening of hearts and the awakening of minds

Dawn remains grateful to all her teachers in particular Ruth White and Ishwara Kaur for their guidance and support.

Ruth was a student of B.K.S Iyengar for over twenty years and is an ever-present source of inspiration for Dawn’s authentic approach to teaching yoga.

Ishwara trained with Karta Singh from France. She has a deep understanding of the spiritual journey which she openly shares as she encourages us to explore the nature of consciousness

Dawn is currently focused on the continuing development of her Karuna Yoga Teachers Training Programme, establishing Kundalini Yoga in Croydon and working on what began as one idea for a book about the healing power of yoga and has morphed into three books to include teaching tips for yoga teachers and awakening with Kundalini yoga

Dawn has discovered a love of acoustic guitar and practises in her spare time which complements her passion for devotional singing.
